Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Technician with significant experience in auto-electrical systems, particularly for boom pump trucks. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and electrical systems on pump trucks, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and complies with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems on pump trucks
  • Diagnose and resolve auto-electrical faults, including issues with wiring, sensors, and control systems specific to pump truck operations
  • Perform calibration and regular adjustments to ensure the accurate functioning of sensors and instruments
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems such as starters, alternators, batteries, and lighting systems on pump trucks
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with Scribante Concrete’s safety, health, and environmental standards during all repairs and maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and other departments to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of all equipment
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all repairs, calibrations, and maintenance activities
  • Provide training and guidance to other team members on the proper use and troubleshooting of pump truck instrumentation systems

Requirements:

  • Technical Qualification: Diploma or trade certification in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an Instrument Technician
  • Proven experience working with auto-electrical systems on pump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing auto-electrical issues
    • Expertise in the calibration and maintenance of instrumentation systems
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Other:
    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Willingness to work in demanding environments and meet project deadlines
    • Willingness to travel when assistance is required at various sites
    • Previous experience working in the construction industry required
    • Knowledge of advanced control systems such as PLCs highly advantageous
